Sony might be feeling a bit cocky from their performance at E3 this year.Or perhaps the executives have been looking at Spider-Man 2 footage and love what they see.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures has already set the release dates for the third and fourth installments in its Spider-Man franchise, despite the fact that the second film is still being produces as of this writing. Says Sony chairman Jeff Blake:
“Spider-Man is our most important, most successful, and most beloved franchise, so we’re thrilled that we are in a position to lock in these prime release dates over the next five years.”
Amazing Spider-Man 3 is set to be released in June of 2016, while Amazing Spider-Man 4 will open in May of 2018.
