According to Entertainment Weekly, the character of Mary Jane Watson has been cut from the sequel to Amazing Spider-Man.In an article about actress Shailene Woodley, the magazine dropped the news that her already filmed scenes had been cut, and her character will instead debut in the next film, an already-planned Amazing Spider-Man 3. Said Woodley:
“Of course I’m bummed. But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason…Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film”
Here’s hoping Peter can somehow console himself to only dating Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy.
